The author says, |My relation with haikus is a story of a coup de fodre (love at first sight).| A Japanese editor and translator encountered his haiku on the internet, and she was moved by it, then two of them planned a bilingual haiku book, Spanish and Japanese. The editor felt that Javier's haiku is very frank and open-minded, not like Japanese traditional haiku, and she was attracted by the uniqueness in style and expression. She found it something new.There are 100 haiku in this book. You'll find in his haiku, a young Paraguayan who is passionate about literature of all ages and cultures, his lover, small creatures and the landscapes of soybean fields in his homeland.
